Through out the season the term “Sectional” will be used often. Sectionals only apply to girls gymnastics for levels 4 and 5. Girls must qualify for sectional meets at an invitational meet, such as the Turkey Tumble. At the Sectional meet gymnasts compete in order to receive scores to qualify them to compete at the state meet held at the end of the season. Levels 6 and above qualify for their state meets at an invitational. Below is a break-down of qualifying scores per level:
• Level 4 & 5 must score a 31.5 or better at an invitational to qualify for a sectional and score a 33 or better at a sectional to qualify for the state meet
• Level 6 must score a 32.5 or better at an invitational to qualify for the state meet
